Brief

I was approached by both owners of House of L, with problems of their current website. Even though it was very clear the branding needing revisiting they were unsure of what content they needed on their website. But also highlighted that it was very important for the User Journey to make sense, as it could be the gateway of getting new business.

They asked for the following:

  • User Research

  • Wireframes with some potential concepts

Research

I started to look at the User Personas, to get more of an understanding of the customer needs. I found that the website needed to be professional, and the branding to be strong. To create a sense of legitimacy, to influence the decision of whether people wanted to work with the company. Yes, it’s important for the customers ( parents ) to know more about the brand, but what’s more beneficial to the company is the buyers for the business. I needed to do a deeper dive into research, to see how other companies are targeting both type of users.

Once looking at what competitors had done, I found the following:

  • Sub categories, or sister websites were used so that their users were not overwhelmed with information that wasn’t useful to them

  • High quality imagery to keep the professional look

  • Accessibility was very important, which is beneficial House of L as their products were used by neurodivergent children as well as having partnership with the National Autistic society
